I’ve been working in web and broadcast media since 2001. I started out as a video production editor for financial news start-up WebFN.com, before joining Emmis Communications St. Louis, one of the area’s most prominent media companies, in 2002. Beginning as a Content Manager for KHITS 96 and 97.1 FM Talk, I swiftly took over web duties on alternative rock station 105.7 the Point – a post I held and evolved over the next 6 1/2 years. During that tenure, I also webmastered other (now defunct) Emmis properties 104.1 the Mall, Red@104.1, RedOnTheWeb.com and myREDlounge.com.
I transitioned to Creative Director of Digital Solutions in early 2009. In this newly created role, I conceive, develop, design, code and maintain internet-based sales programs, station / brand initiatives and brand-external websites for Emmis and its clients. Duties include new product development, client-solution brainstorming and strategy, website / microsite design and implementation, logo and print design, flash feature design and development, model / product / event photography, video production, project management, sales proposals, product pricing and supervision of internship program.
In July 2009, I launched new lifestyle portal EcoLifeSTL.com for Emmis, having been involved in development from conception with planning and strategy. I created all brand elements for EcoLifeSTL, including logo, website and marketing materials, and currently steward the project’s content.
As Creative Director, I have executed programs for Charter Communications, 7-Eleven, City of St. Louis Department of Health, Iron Age Studios, Blu CitySpaces, National City Bank, The Phoenix, Hustler Hollywood and many more.
Additionally, I’ve freelanced as a front-end general user interface (GUI) web designer since 2004. I have worked frequently for St. Louis-based firm ChaseParker Design | Interactive, as well as independently. In this capacity, I provide spec designs for client proposals with Adobe Photoshop, adapt designs based on client input and develop website HTML / CSS layouts, page templates and server-side / php include structures, all site graphics and interactive Flash elements.
